After four years of release break, the Epic Heavy Metal warriors have concentrated on their real strength on their new work „The Lord Of Steel“! The „kings of metal“ deliver a veritable classical Manowar album. The artwork was created by Ken Kelly, the CD was remixed and remastered and comes in a newly designed booklet. Live one day as an eagle

Being a life-long fan of Manowar all the way back from 1985. when i first heard Gloves of Metal, puts a heavy task in how to evaluate each album which was coming down all these years. Up until The Triumph and Agony (that album included) i was literally living each Manowar album. But Louder Than Hell was my first dissapointment. And the next few albums didn't get my big attention. Up until The Lord of Steel album (and later Gods of War). First i heard Metal Hammer magazine version and i was instantly thrilled! To be honest, i was in deep minority among my friends, but most of them judged that album by its very strange production. I also think that it could has been better and more clear but Joey said, after Gods of War album, which was a perfection production wise, that he wanted more raw. My guess is that he was under the influence of Manowar's own work from the early stages of their career since just a year prior to The Lord of Steel, they re-recorded first album Battly Hymns.
Although in the meantime i grew up loving a lot Gods of War album, which contains one of the best Manowar songs ever (Sleipnir and Loki God of Fire), The Lord of Steel album is much much more balanced album. There isn't not a single weak song. Ok, my least favourite (but still not a bad song!) is Manowarriors, but it is the law that each Manowar album contains a song like that one on the album. I like a lot a verse in a first song: Live one day as an eagle Or a lifetime as a fly.
My favourite song is: Born in the Grave. But, when i think better, more or less songs are excellant and i still don't know why that album had weak reception as it is one of the best Manowar albums for me, top 5, to be precise.
