Originally called Godzilla when they formed in 1996, Gojira are new millennium death metal gods creating music for a new generation. An unpredictable blend of death, thrash, groove, progressive, and math metal, sits starkly juxtaposed to the spiritual and environmental lyrics that the band are best known for. Cleverly combining several genres of music to create a fierce innovative sound, they are pioneers of modern metal music.
Their style of beautiful but extremely technical music has earnt them a loyal fan base as well as several Grammy nominations. Six studio albums and 3 live DVD’s later, their music can freeze people to the spot the first time they hear it.
