We’re here to talk about our The Walking Dead and our licenced merch. The Walking Dead – sometimes referred to as TWD by fans - has become an icon of television, redefining genres and establishing itself as a cultural touchstone since it first aired over a decade ago in 2010.

The show starts with Officer Rick Grimes waking up after getting hurt in a shootout. Finding himself in an empty hospital (not one of the Nightingales, no), Rick doesn’t stumble upon a team of doctors or nurses, but zombies. Actual zombies. The walking dead.

Turns out, while in his coma, the world was infected with a virus that turned most of the population into zombies, and Rick has to quickly find a way out – and find out if his family survived. Over the series, the show has got under the skin of viewers by merging horror with reality – tackling both science fiction and real-life concerns, like relationship dramas, the need for human friendship and companionship, rival gangs (of the human variety) and the desperate struggle to survive in a world which isn’t always welcoming.

The show found huge success, nominated for countless Emmy and Golden Globe awards and running for eleven seasons. The 11th season will be the last, but will the dead finally stay dead?
