by Markus Eck (29.09.2006) Twelve compositions are on board and they all don't have too much in common with the often brilliant Teutonic Pagan Folk Metal-material of their former records. Four years after their last album "Erdenkraft", the quintet again sets out for a new stylistic directive. Updated elements can be found all over the place. The band around singer Frost often reminds me of comparable formation, like Subway To Sally or In Extremo. Only the beloved flute sounds were rescued into the new concept, almost everything else has changed in Adorned Brood. Intricate, edgy rhythms replace the formerly dominating catchy hymns. The added Folk elements vary according to the mood of the songs, sometimes more, sometimes less. Campfire choirs do the rest. And the cover version "7 Tage lang" is a great one, too!
