Product description

Korn orientated themselves on their fifth album "Untouchables" a little more in the direction of Mainstream, however, the aggressive hardness of the predecessors didnΒ΄t stay away. Board-hard riffs and noteworthy shouts of singer Jonathan Davis still determine the acoustic picture of the Nu-Metal icons Korn which got themselves an entry in the top list of the best Metal juwels in 2002 again, with songs like "Thoughtless", "Hating" and "Here To Stay" .

by Marcel Anders (07/02) Untouchable? Has it come this far? Korn think they're God? Too much success? And even more important: have they lost their frustration and anger? No! Despite the lengthy production by controlfreak Michael Beinhorn Korn's fifth album is exactly what one would have expected. Korn's typical trademarks such as Jonathan's winy growling vocals, the outstanding rhythm section and of course Munky's and Head's guitar bombshells give "Untouchables" it's unique position in the genre. In addition to that Korn manage to continuously walk the plank between rough heavyness, bombastic emotions and playful melodies. "In & Out" features a synthesizer intro, a harmonic chorus line, atmospheric guitar parts which grow into infinity towards the end. First the tempo is increased then Jonathan's voice changes and suddenly you get a the full pounding right in your face. During the spheric parts you will hear Korn at it's best ("Inja", "Here to stay"). (Marcel Anders)
