by Adam Weishaupt (30.03.2010) With the release of their new, third album "Videodrom", you needn't be a clairvoyant to see Callejon's breakthrough on the horizon... On "Zombieaction Hauptquartier", the Germans have already said good.-bye to that Metalcore of heir early days, pushing and destroying their limits - the result of that work: "Videodrom". The evolution has catchier, almost commercial songs in its wake, on top of them rough, yet melodic "Kinder der Nacht" which is the most enjoyable ear-candy on "Videodrom". The mixture of clean vocals and screams, hefty riffs, and earthy melodies, plus the exciting lyrics and well-chosen choruses is Callejon's trademark, setting them apart from the rest of their peers. Samples, intros, effects and the sheer love for detail spice up each track, and the whole thing is delivered with a clout and sound which leaves you open-mouthed. "Videodrom" is a modern masscre, the most innovative album by a young German band since the first works released by Farmer Boys and Apokalyptische Reiter.
