Plenty of treats and no tricks here, with our Misfits merch…

For The Misfits, every day is Halloween. The group were a horror punk band who got their start New Jersey. We’ve seen the Jersey Shore. We understand why the group were so captivated by horror.
The group were formed in the late 1970s, and they took their name from a surprising source – Marilyn. Not Manson, but Monroe. Despite being the face of all-American beauty and glamour, Marilyn inspired the Misfits’ frontman, Glenn Danzig, as he was fascinated with rumours of her final days on set of the movie, The Misfits.
After making their debut in 1977, the Misfits would go on to change the face of metal forever, widely regarded as being the progenitors of horror punk. The sub genre revolutionised an already rebellious and riotous musical landscape, bringing more shock into rock. Horror punk as a genre is described as the mix of gothic and punk rock sounds with morbid and violent imagery and lyrics which are often influenced by horror films and science fiction B-movies.
The Misfits have gone through several line-up changes, but that never interrupted with their creative output. Spanning several decades, their albums have included Walk Among Us (1982), Earth A.D./Wolf's Blood (1983), Static Age (1996), American Psycho (1997) and The Devil's Rain (2011). Three of the original, founding members (Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, a name we just wanted to write down) have reunited in more recent years for sporadic concert appearances.
Despite a few break-ups, make-ups and hiatuses along the way, each member of the Misfits through their different eras have had a huge impact on metal. However you were introduced to the Misfits, relive the glory years with our Misfits merch.
