Forget teen spirit, we’re all about the tee spirit in here…

Band tees and tops are a wardrobe must-have. Pair them easily with jeans for a relaxed look or whack them under a jacket for a smart-casual effect, they’re versatile and get to share something about your personality at the same time. With our Nirvana tees, you can celebrate the icons of grunge whether you’re popping to the shops, heading out to a gig or off to work.

Emerging from the Seattle grunge scene and going on to conquer the globe, Nirvana’s impact continues to be felt to this day. The group – who were co-founded and fronted by the legendary Kurt Cobain – were pioneers of grunge, helping to shape the sound of rock in the 1990s. On their seminal album, Nevermind, which features the iconic hit Smells Like Teen Spirit, they showed that rock can be many things: aggressive, loud, soft, damaged, human.

Despite early promising output and worldwide acclaim, the death of Kurt Cobain in 1994 meant that the band were to burn bright but have their flame extinguished fast. Fortunately, the afterglow of this band’s flame is still flickering.

They helped to establish the sound and spirit of the 90s, but they’re still influencing the likes of Billie Eilish to Lil Nas X. This is why getting hold of one of our Nirvana t-shirts is not just a smart style move, but also a shrewd investment – it’ll never be out of date.

Our selection of Nirvana tops and tees come in a range of inclusive sizes, so every boy, girl and nonbinary person can find the right ‘fit for their spirit. The designs and styles of our Nirvana t-shirt are inspired by the band’s album artwork and imagery. Their logo was everywhere, the iconic lettering now synonymous with slacker culture and doing things differently. And, of course, our Nirvana t-shirts include designs bearing the iconic smiley face emblem. The face as a logo is simple. It’s a crudely drawn smiley face with wavy eyes and a cheeky tongue poking out. Despite not exactly being a masterpiece, that smiley face became one of the biggest visuals of the 1990s – and of the rock/grunge scene. Other designs repurpose the artwork of albums, videos and tours of the group, from a shot taken of the band live on stage to the cover for In Utero.
