by Markus Wosgien (10.10.2005) Slipknot have always been good for surprises and innovations. Of their current album, "Vol.3: (The subliminal verses), many were both surprised and overwhelmed. The succeeding tour lead the guys around the globe underpinning that Slipknot are just made for the stage. The incredible energy that they unfold on stage is unique. Now, after the ingenious and pioneering Live-DVD, "Disasterpieces", Slipknot release their first live double-album documenting again the great best of programme of their three released records so far. The first disc starts greatly with "The blister exists" and the classic, "(sic)". Colin Richardson (Bullet For My Valentine, Cradle Of Filth e.g.) was responsible for the mix and guarantees a perfect sound. Following are killers, such as "Before I forget", "Left behind", "Liberate" and "Purity". Both discs feature twelve tracks each of which especially on the second discs hymns, like "People = Shit" and "Duality" can really convince. The finale is made up by the frenetically received "Wait aand bleed" and "Surfacing" of the self-titled debut. "9.0: Live" is simply a perfect, powerful live-document in best Slipknot quality.
