by Andreas Reissnauer (20.04.2009) Call me a nitpicker if you want - but The Legion are still leaning heavily towards Marduk (riff-wise, that is), even on their third album. Okay, drummer Emil Dragutinovic once tortured the skins for Marduk, but he hasn't been the songwriter there. Well, this shouldn't be a complaint anyway because The Legion deliver a lot of absolutely great riffs on their album - plus a dark and spooky atmosphere totally alluring for the follower of The Dark Arts... Selected orchestral keyboards make for a majestic grandeur and enhance the uneasy, evil overall impression. Moreover, The Legion like to change their tempi frequently which makes them quite elusive. This is Black Metal, tough as nails yet melodic - reminding you of an unholy alliance between Marduk and Dimmu Borgir. Well done!
