by Christian Bezdekovsky (04/01) There is enough snow in Alaska where the band around singer Brock Lindow originates from. So, at least the album title becomes logical. After the quite gloomy 2002 release 36 Crazyfists in 2004 are a lot more positive. While "Bitterness the star" dealt with bad ends of relationships and depressive emotions of all kinds they now advise the listener to leave all that behind and to concentrate on the positive things in life. Is that a result of the band having moved from the loneliness of Alaska to Portland, Oregon? Anyway, musically there have been smaller changes, the voice of the singer still settles somewhere between SOAD and Thursday, and the style has remained, too. 36 Crazyfists show again what aggressive music has to sound like in these Post-Hardcore-times!
