They scream and growl like monsters, and then, they warble and sing like nightingales - on their third album, the rocket stars from L.A. check out the extremes between hefty Metalcore and charts-compatible Alternative Metal - their fans love them for that.

by Oliver Kube (12.07.2010) After their polished, interesting, but not undisputed second opus "The dream", the L.A. bunch (which was among the Metalcore firestarters 2007) takes a step back: these days, front vamp Maria and her lot are remarkably heavier, and sport not exclusively clean vocal parts, but also the occasional aggressive scream or growl. Fortunately, they still have the same irresistible Pop appeal they had on the last release -- with all its flair, and now with an even more multi-faceted sound which enhances such fast neck wreckers as "Blazin'", but also mighty juggernauts à la "Gunshow". Reminding me a bit of Linkin Park: "The promise", a duet by Maria with Otherwise's Adrian Patrick -- and the title track, an epic half ballad, is definitely charts material. Three albums, three great deliveries by a self-confident band daring to take a risk each time.
