by Markus Wosgien (04.04.2007) In Australia, a fine Power Metal scene has developed over the years. Eyefear, whose history reaches back to the year 1994, have released two records and one EP. Permanent line-up changes have always hindered the breakthrough but with the new opus, "A world full of grey" all signs stand on storm. With the new frontman, Danny Cecati (ex-Pegazus), they recorded nine great songs representing the perfect balance of Progressive and Power Metal: Not at last by the powerful vocals in Bruce Dickinson style, "A world full of grey" gets a certain U.S. Metal touch à la Fates Warning, Dream Theater and Symphony X. The whole album sounds a bit dreamy and pays a lot of attention to playful neaties. The production is modern: powerful and dynamic leaving no room for desire. In parts, the album almost sounds too perfect but likers of progressive sounds will soon love this album and discover more and more new elements.
