by Matthias Mineur (09/03) As expected the album of the same name is now followed by "Kiss Symphony" as ì a visual spectacle. Recorded in Australia in February 2003 this double-DVD ì shows the American make-up rockers in collaboration with the Melbourne Symphonic ì Orchestra. Even more than the audio disc, the video documents how spectacular ì this collaboration was and how pompously it was set to scene. You get ì pyrotechnics and fire fountains and Gene Simmons spits gallons of (artificial) ì blood. As usual with current video recordings the fast cuts of the recordings ì unfortunately provide a slightly hectic effect which is not made up for by the shots ì of the many euphoric girls lifting their shirts... Beside the pure concert ì recordings "Kiss Symphony" also features a "Making Of" with the planning and first ì meetings between Rock musicians and their conductor, intense rehearsals with the ì orchestra and much more.
