10.On the threshold of death
by Andreas Reissnauer (19.01.2007) With their second album, the French should manage to draw much more attention for it represents a huge progression to the debut album. The quartet is very abstract, technically and gloomy. The guys can play and are great song writers - means, despite all complexity, the structures become clear. One is impressed of the talents and the performances of the musicians. The rhythm machine mercilessly grooves and the production is state-of-the-art. Need comparisons? Their country fellow citizens, Gojira surely had a massive impact, but also Meshuggah and Textures left their marks in Hacride's sound. Really bizarre is "Zambra", when Hacride go together with the Neo Flamenco Outfit, Ojos De Brujo, rocking into a new dimension. Progressive and extreme, Hacride will delight all fans of the above mentioned bands, guaranteeing a massive play.
