14.Falling Into You
by Oliver Kube (20.01.2008) By the end of the 80s, Skid Row were seen the potential successors for Guns N'Roses on the Hardrock-throne. That everything went differently – despite all millions of sold copies of their early albums – is well known. After he left the band in 1996, frontman Sebastian Bach has released solo records – both hesitatingly and not very successful, either. After a six years break, he now returns with a real killer! Already the title track heavily reminding me of Skid Row's heaviest album, "Slave to the grind" (1991), makes clear that the 39-year-old really wants to show it to the world. Also in "American Metalhead" and "Take you down with me", he really rocks. Among the calmer moments, there might not be a second "I remember you" or "18 and life" but with "Falling into you" amongst others, he still does a good job. The absolute highlights for most of the fans, however, should be "(Love is) a bitchslap", "Stuck inside" and the Aerosmith-cover, "Back in the saddle". Because in all these songs, Bach shares vocals with nobody else than with his old friend, W. Axl Rose.
