„Awake" is Dream Theater’s third album from 1994 and comes as a re-released 180g pressing and with a 4-page inlay.
After the great success of "Images and Words” it was Dream Theater’s urgent need to work on new materials leading to an early reunion in the studios in May 1994. John Purdell and Duane Baron produced and mixed the album. The cover design was created by the band itself and contains references to the lyrics of the album.
"Awake” ranked in the charts at #32 of the US billboard top 200. It is the last album with Kevin Moore on the keyboard, who declared his band exit during the recording and was finally replaced by Derek Sherinian. "Lie”, "Caught in a Web” and "The Silent Man” were released as singles.
