After all those rather so-so releases of the past few years, Chris Boltendahl and his gang of grim reapers have gone back to the roots: their new studio album "Ballads of a hangman" contains a bunch of genuine, earthy and true anthems – all of them one hundred percent German Heavy Metal. The days of half-baked, progressive and chunky song structures are over, it’s pedal to the metal again, folks! You get a lot of eruptive power, and some typical melodious Grave Digger songs, all composed with love and diligence. That’s how it’s supposed to sound: these are brutal musical thunderstorms spiced up with some pretty hefty riffs, and the frosting on the cake is Boltendahl’s unique voice, the Grave Digger trademark. Well done, boys - that should keep you going for the next years!
