by Lisa Hofer (21.09.2007) The Medieval Rockers of Subway To Sally can't stand still. Restlessly and obviously still provided with plenty of creative energy, they keep the fire of success burning with their ninth studio album, "Bastard", a divine album indeed. Like in the past, the inventors of Medieval Metal manage to interweave dynamics and beautiful melodies for a tight sound carpet. At the same time, there are changes, too. The thirteen masterly compositions on "Bastard" do not come from their unique singer, Eric Fish alone, he shared this important task with violin player, Frau Schmitt and drummer Michael Simon. Songs like the goose flesh ballad, "Wehe Stunde", the ear candy, "Umbra", the powerful "Unentdecktes Land" and the thrilling "Tanz auf dem Vulkan" show Subway To Sally in a certain way freed and euphoric. "Bastard" is an emotional masterpiece that you can't resist.
