5.Under a violent moon
by Olaf Plotke (November 2004) As a Deep Purple-fan I admit to have had some problems first putting the debut album "Under a violet moon" into my c.d. But it wasn't long until I was caught by this beautiful music. Ritchie Blackmore is really a musical genius. The way he at the side of Candice Night mixes Medieval music with pop and rock elements is simply unique. Because the duo's music never sounds old but fresh and fascinating different. The most beautiful tracks of Blackmore's Night are now being compiled here and I can only recommend this album to everybody who still thinks that this would be schmaltz. And also for die hard Blackmore's Night-fans this album is a must because it features a bonus live DVD with 5 songs as well as an extra bonus c.d. with 3 Christmas songs of the two. That's how the wait for the next regular album is pleasantly shortened. I can hardly await it, can you? (Olaf Plotke - November 2004)
