by Andreas Reissnauer (12.04.2007) Eisregen is back, and with "Blutbahnen", they have an album in store that consequently sets forth what they have begun. The new album is definitely the most variable in the band's history. Beside the classic Eisregen stuff of the likes of "Im Dornenwall" and "Frischtot", convincing great blast beats, heavy guitars and awesome keyboards, also the melodic component was further enhanced. "Eisenkreuzkrieger", e.g. as well as the title track are two examples for Eisregen's ability to compose pure, melodic songs that are neither kitschy nor superficial. Singer M. Roth has heavily improved, and his clear singing voice really sets some fine accents. Lyrically, they speak a clear tongue again. The morbid stories of M. Roth have their very own charms and in all seriousness you should not be mistaking to take the whole thing too seriously. Eisregen has constantly developed, and "Blutbahnen" is another step forward.
