by Benny Ramm (05.10.2006) "Chaudiere", the tenth studio album of the guys from Seattle, respectively Berlin, again bursts - like all their records, of course - of Pothead-charms! The first thing you notice is the typical sound warmth which seems to increase from album to album and is, of course, the result of the analogue production which may be digitally mastered, but still greatly roars and snarls. In contrast to its direct predecessor, "Chaudiere" is a bit more relaxed, maybe even more Pop like ("James") with excursions into Country & Blues ("Couch"), still subliminally having the pure energy of the songs, waiting to burst in the right moment. "Chaudiere", too, was recorded in the band's Big Berries studios in Berlin/Kreuzberg. Pothead are back: with more facettes than ever!!!
