It's been a while since such sad music has been so attractive, charming and addictive like the 11 songs of this debut. Because the band from Kansas City is not only going for melancholy, they also write beautiful songs with charts appeal ("Out of my head") or picks up the acoustic guitar ("Drift & Die") and jams a while. Yet, Scantlin & Co. have their best moments always when they are really kicking off, when they hit the drums really hard and present fat riffs, when the frontman roars and you see Cobain, Staley and Cornell in sad unity before your inner eye.
