by Oliver Kube (09.07.2007) With their side project Stone Sour, Slipknot-members Corey Taylor (vocals) and guitarist Jim Root are close to the Grunge-/Alternative-Metallers, like Godsmack & Co. On their second album, originally released in summer 2006, the quartet appeared even more variable than on their 2002-debut. They casually varied between bull-like killers like "Hell & consequences", and chart-compatible acoustic tracks like "Through glass". The original twelve songs are now being re-released in an expensive Digipack added by six more first-class songs. Especially the grooving "Fruitcake", the epic "The day I let go" and the Chris Isaak-cover "Wicked game" should cause some euphoric reactions. Furthermore you get a bonus DVD containing not only all three video clips of the album singles, but also a complete concert of the band recorded last year for a Russian TV show. An exemplary equipped "special edition" that really deserves this name.
