by Andreas Reissnauer (12/99) 1 1/2 years after the great "Frozen", Sentenced are back with their sixth album. Because of changing the studio from Woodhouse to Tico Tico, the guys from Finland sound way rougher again. They already indicated that with the bonus track on the Digipak-version of "Frozen". The different location didn't change the music though. Their name still guarantees handmade, melancholic Metal, that sounds extremely dynamic because of interplays of acoustic guitars and heavy riffs. Furthermore, the continuing mid-tempo invites to permanet headbanging. For that reason, and the simplicity of the song structure, more and more, this Finnish band reminds me on the new Metallica, although the typically Finnish depressivity always shines through. Just the fact that "Frozen" contained of more hits, makes this, a little more melodic album, appear unsignificantly less attractive.
