Five years have passed since Brazilian power-metal kings of Angra released their last album ‘Ømni’. The band is finally back with new music, which once again reaffirms just how exceptional they are and solidifies their royalty status in the genre. Angra’s unmistakeable sound – the fusion of classic-virtuosic power metal with progressive elements and rhythms – is perfectly demonstrated here and makes ‘Cycles of Pain’ a real highlight for every fan of sophisticated, first-class metal. The long-standing line-up of the band, which was founded in 1991, has been joined since 2013 by former Rhapsody of Fire singer Fabio Lione, who once again delivers an incredible performance. Dennis Ward (Helloween, Magnum, Firewind) once again took on mixing and mastering of ‘Cycles of Pain’.
