by Markus Eck (18.01.2007) If you should decide to remain sober here it's your own fault - this incredible Horrorpunk-album is so extremely drinking- and singalong-animating, that the term restraint becomes a foreign word within seconds. Formed in Osaka in 1992, Balzac has long become one of the most popular genre bands. No wonder in my opinion, because the band's Tomb-Rock'n'Roll bursting for party atmosphere also on the new album doesn't stop for any wild Punk party. The current opus is the third release of the Dark Rock troop in Europe. The Japanese ear candy cultivators combine their fine and very catchy melody-lines with discrete, high-quality Pop fragments. And it's exactly that what makes these powerful compositions so special, adding some passionate, heartily charms to the songs. Ballad-like moments may be rare on this album, but if they appear they are another of Balzac's strengths!
