by Markus Eck (22.10.2008) Their fans may not have heard them this epic and bombastic so far - anyway, on their new and fifth studio album called "Demonic art", Darkane give it their all regarding precision, technique and versatility. I am sure that the terrific, symphonic opening song "Variations of an eyerush" will leave even the most spoiled among you dumbfounded - just listen to that formidable two-piece guitar solo! "Layer of lies" (which came out 2005) was anything but passionless, but this Modern Thrash Metal output is a proof for the boys’ ability to convey extreme emotions to us. Jens Broman, the new singer, has enough gut instinct to be remarkably good behind the mike - his multi-faceted voice is the apt link between the furiously fighting guitars of Christofer Malmström and Klas Ideberg. Drummer Peter Wildoer is a well-known name among rhythm junkies anyway - on this album, he delivers a perfect performance.
