12.Ich hab es wieder mal versaut
by Oliver Kube (18.01.2007) In the two and a half years since their foundation, and despite the production of their well-done debut album "Alles auf schwarz", Montreal have always been on the road. Hundreds of shows were played all over Germany as well as Eastern and Southern Europe, supporting colleagues like the Alternative Allstars, ZSK, El*ke, Randy, and repeatedly the Bloodhound Gang, providing the Hamburger Punk Rockers with an almost unbelievable degree of publicity and a huge fan base. And I'm sure they will further enlarge that with their new album, because what this trio delivers here easily reaches the Die Ärzte-level. No matter if high speed shells, such as "Ich hab es wieder mal versaut" and "Ein echter Kavalier", or singalong chanters, such as "Besser jetzt zu gehen", the guys really managed to set free their live energy in the studio. But Montreal can also rock it a bit more thoughtfully as is proven in "Zum allerersten Mal" and "Und dann kamst du", songs that are not only musically, but also lyrically far more matured without crossing the line. Great!
