by Andreas Reissnauer (07/99) Former Pungent Stench guitarist/singer Martin Schirenc is surprisingly back with his new band Hollenthon. And "Domus mundi" is full of varied styles and I'm pretty sure that since it's Martin's baby he is also responsible for most of the instruments. Hollenthon unite black metal with folk, abstract classic, ethno influences and progressive traces. Sounds more complicated than it is since the Austrians understand it pretty well how to mix raging, catchy parts with bizarre elements and their wall of sound almost has the effect of a cluster bomb on the listener. It's not Pungent Stench but you will make out influences in sound of the weirdoz. Impressive album! Well, let's get it on! (Andreas Reissnauer)
