by Jürgen Tschamler (04.01.2008) "Doom generation" is a ten-year-old album that is being released in Europe for the first time. Consequently, I can recommend this album only to Thrash Metal-purists: old school Thrash Metal with relatively simple song structures and the usual Ufta-Ufta-drums. Bassist and singer, Al Mead, may be known for his collaboration with Scum-legend, GG Allin, which doesn't play an important role, though. The eleven songs are more or less on one level and orientate in U.S.-West Coast Thrash-bands, such as Violence, Evil Dead, Bloodlust, and Heretic, rather the second league of the Thrash-invasion. After all, the album leaves a conflicting impression on me because of the quality of the songs. Furthermore, the production is quite dull and indefinite which may have been the standard of that time but which today sometimes appears a bit embarrassing. Tearabyte is really only for those who want to have a complete Thrash collection – solid stuff without any highlights.
