"Eidolon" CD by Dark Fortress

by Markus Eck (12.03.2008) When singer and figure-head, Azathoth finally left Dark Fortress in 2007, much seemed unclear in the house of the Southern Germans. Meanwhile, the horde has gone back to business and true Black Metal-fans will be thrilled by their new, fifth studio album, "Eidolon". With their new frontman, Morean, they are very well fitted – this guy vomits his rough contents with surprisingly fresh and charmingly uniqueness. Also for the rest, the both highly melodic and ambitious guys make all critics fall silent. In terms of quality, they can easily continue their great 2005-album "Séance". Clear is: also in the current case, the musical mixture of cold, misanthropic, emotional eruptions of hypnotic grace, brute, dynamic rhythm-avalanches and fabulous riff-cannonades can absolutely convince. Seemingly darker than ever before, Dark Fortress celebrate their new material with almost solemn hate in their hearts.
