by Bruder Cle (null) Insiders see them as the new Gothic-heroes, with their first album on Napalm Records they now have to prove if they can live up to the expectations. And to sum up the result in advance: Eisheilig not only lived up to the expectations with this album, they have exceeded them by far. The contemplative gloomy Gothic-Rock of the five-piece band lives by the charismatic voice of Dennis Mikus, who adds haunting dramatics to every track. The rhythmic monotonous guitar-lines, the ingenious synthesisers and the fantastic German lyrics free of clichées are the ingredients that make this sound-cocktail perfect. Eisheilig manage to combine the best moments of German rock music from Das Ich to Rammstein, so I would not be surprised if they would face the same career as e.g. HIM. The musical capacity is there and with this album, Eisheilig for me are the hottest candidate for the title "Newcomer of the year". If you don't order this album as soon as possible, I can't help you anymore.
