Continuity pays back! With great ambition and the right stylistic mixture of Powermetal, Prog-influences and epic ingredients, the Norway-American band Kamelot around guitarist Thomas Youngblood and singer Roy S. Khan (ex-Conception) have improved from album to album. Since the line up has remained stable and the band found their production home in the "Gate Studio" in Wolfsburg, Germany, all details are perfect. "The fourth legacy" was great, "Karma" a worthy successor. The new album is called "Epica", again cites all essential trademarks of the band and is colourful in sound and style. Especially the combination of fast speeds, skilful arrangements and anthemnic melodies drives the songs from one highlight to the next. In the atmospherically tight songs, Kamelot set philosophical lyrics making this album a concept album with interesting thoughts. So for the listener it's worth to look for the details.
