by Matthias Mineur (01/03) Sweden Rock, 2000 Decibel, Wacken Open Air, Tour with Blind Guardian: Dream Evil were one of the most active Metal bands on European stages. No wonder, their debut, "Dragon slayer" easily crossed the highest newcomer benchmarks and in Japan, e.g. established one of the most hopeful newies. Only logical that Isfeldt, Nordström & Co. follow the road they have chosen also on their second album, "Evilized" and proudly present up-tempo Metal tunes of the traditional kind. Stylistically, they sit comfortably between Hammerfall, Stratovarius and U.D.O, the 12 new songs shine by fine melodies, variable arrangements and the necessary heaviness. Perfect also is the production, transparent and powerful, leaving no desires opened. What follows? A tour with Hammerfall and Masterplan, that will surely provide them with a further growing fan basis. Guaranteed.
