"Feel the heat" CD by Nitrate

Inspired by the melodic and hard rock scene of the late 80s with bands like Def Leppard, Europe, Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi, and GNR, Nitrate is the brainchild of Nick Hogg, a musician from Nottingham who, after playing in some bands in the early 2000s, decided to dedicate himself to songwriting. He was absent from the scene for several years until he decided to give it another try in 2015.

Nick worked on Nitrate's debut album with another songwriter/musician from Nottingham, Rob Wylde, who shared the same musical influences. The two managed to put together the band's debut album, 'Real World,' which also featured former Zinatra singer Joss Mennen. It was celebrated by many fans and critics as a breath of fresh air for the melodic rock/AOR community and included a series of arena-worthy songs that transported the listener back to the time when Def Leppard ruled the airwaves. The band's momentum continued with the 2019 album 'Open Wide,' which introduced new guitarist and vocalist Philip Lindstrand and gave Nitrate a harder, more cutting edge. With tighter songwriting, it rocked harder, and there were significant improvements in the production department. 'Open Wide' was a tribute to Hogg's influences: a fusion of the best that MTV had to offer in the late 80s.

Strangely, the rapid development that occurred between the release of 'Real World' and 'Open Wide' was not affected by the lineup changes that took place between the two records. Nick Hogg is the mastermind behind Nitrate, and he has put together a solid lineup for the follow-up album, 'Renegade.' This time, Alexander Strandell (Art Nation, Crowne) took over on vocals, Dario Nikzad on lead guitar, the Martin brothers Tom and James (ex-Vega) on rhythm guitar and keyboards, and Mikey Wilson on drums.

The new album, 'Feel The Heat,' picks up where 'Renegade' left off, blending all of Hogg's influences from 80s AOR and arena rock, such as BON JOVI, JOURNEY, BAD ENGLISH, and DEF LEPPARD ('Pyromania'/'Hysteria' era). Hogg is once again collaborating with Tom and James Martin, who, along with Nick Hogg and Robert Hodson, co-wrote almost the entire album. Strandell is once again responsible for the vocals and shows why he is one of the most sought-after singers in the international scene.
