by Markus Eck (08.04.2008) A stylistic quite awkward Modern Metal bastard is now presented by the French Jenx – a queer mix of Filter, Neurosis, Treponem Pal and Red Harvest leads a strong life of its own. The dangerous bastard is sonically fattened with exactly dosed components: blasting Thrash clods, brutally scattered Core shreds and tasty Doom food resulting in a debut album that in terms of overwhelming rhythms leaves nothing left to be desired. Still, Jenx fortunately don’t have enough with solidly heavy, brutal, martial and gloomy sounds: their raw extreme-compositions are very catchy, too which further enhances the very heavy, and yet, artistically demanding listening pleasure of this absolutely extraordinary killer album. The quintet around roarer and bass player, Xavier Bertrand really knows what it is doing.
