In a world of justice, Jim Adkins and his guys would long be pop millionaires with their own Hollywood-villa, dozens of platinum records and huge stadium tours. But that's not the world we live in and Jimmy Eat World are still not rich, yet. They have much too much misfortune. First the split with Capitol Records, then the necessary name change of their album title "Bleed American" after 9-11 and the end of their label Dreamworks. Things that can mean a lot of trouble for a band. JEW however have become stronger. May it be because they have landed at Interscope now, recorded with Gil Norton (Pixies, Ride) or just because they released the best record in their 10 years of career: 12 rock songs with addictive earwig-melodies, great, euphoric vocals and powerful riffs leaving no boredom. Also the lyrics are as political as never before. JEW take the chance to give air to their anger about George W. Bush and sing about a better world full of love, fortune and justice. With nice people like these four from Mesa, Arizona, and records like this one. A pleasant idea. (Marcel Anders - September 2004)
