Excellent Service

The thirteenth Lynyrd Skynyrd album from 2009 would have better been entitled according to the opener "Still unbroken" (which was taken from the album as single) instead of "God & guns". The legends increasingly survives all original members without degenerating into a parody.

There's hardly a Rock or Metal fan who hasn't, during a long and hefty party, sung along to those Lynyrd Skynyrd evergreens such as "Sweet home Alabama" or "Free bird" - in the USA, the band is a national treasure, and over here, they experience their second spring, after Kid Rock's musical kudos to LS in every second song of his... Front man Johnny Van Zant and his Southern blokes are still at it, even after almost 40 years and more than 60 albums, talking about their penchant for the simple things of life on tracks like "Still unbroken", "Little thing called you" or "Unwrite that song". An everlasting desire of freedom, a stalwart fighting spirit, and confidence, wrapped up in Classic Rock, Country, Blues, and a little bit of Pop. A must-have for any party.
