10.Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck
by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (27.01.2010) On "Graveyard classics II", they delivered a complete cover version of AC/DC's "Back in black" album - after the success of "T.N.T." , that was a nice gag (which quickly went stale). This third edition is different, though: at first, the chosen original bands seem a bit old - but the material is interesting and lesser known, offering some new perspectives. Metallica's brutal "The frayed ends of sanity" and Slayer's groovy "At dawn they sleep" get an injection of a second spring here, and the only genuine Prong smasher "Snap your fingers snap your neck" sounds fantastic garnered with Mr. B's typical raspy throaty voice! A surprise: Chris Barnes pulls off a semi-melodic growl on Mercyful Fate's "A dangerous meeting" - mostly, the King is too much of a challenge even for vocal greats. They could have skipped Twisted Sister's "Destroyer", though: both Benediction and Hail Of Bullets have covered that one not long ago. Um, and who the hell are BTO ("Not fragile")?
