• Fact 2: How Albus Dumbledore nearly didn’t happen
  In the first two Harry Potter films, Richard Harris played headmaster Albus Dumbledore. Initially, he didn’t want the role - until his eleven-year-old granddaughter threatened never to speak to him again if he turned it down.
• Fact 3: A Headmaster without Homework
  Michael Gambon, who took over as Dumbledore from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, chose not to read the books before filming. Instead, he based his portrayal entirely on the film scripts.
