by Andy Blair (October 2005) It's been twelve years since Clawfinger released their legendary debut album, "Deaf dumb blind" making the term crossover a household name. On their new album, the Swedes make more noise than ever before and just let you stand in astonishment. That has a reason: this time, the band did everything by themselves - from songwriting, the recordings to the production. There were no external influences, even keyboards or samples have almost been extinguished. Instead, they speed it up and let it rock, resulting in eleven fresh and variable tracks. Either more comemrcial and more rocky, like in "Dirty lies" or "God is dead", intricate as in the opener, "The faggot in you" or groovy and modern as in "The best & the worst". The title track, "Hate yourself with style" even has some slight Machine Head references and should be among the heaviest that the guys around singer, Zak Tell have ever recorded for an album. Also in 2005, Clawfinger have a lot to tell when it comes to the top front of bands. If you love this band you'll call them gods now. Fuck all trends, this is the original. (Andy Blair - October 2005)
