by Jürgen Tschamler (08.07.2010) The Canadian juggernaut, led by Maurizio Iacono is rampant again, and on ist path of destruction, it shatters your heads: "Heaven`s venom" is a Death Metal monster! Apart from his being a busy be as a pizza man (remember: he has just opened a pizza place in Chicago!), Maurizio still finds the time somehow to create some hefty riffs and brute grooves - incredible! Their last output "Prevail" has risen the bar for the next one pretty high, but you can rely on Kataklysm, as usual: this oneโs even better. Basically, thereโs no new elements or changes of style, but the songs run down a bit smoother in general. The riffs blast away the plaster and Maurizioโs vocal performance does the rest to your roomโs walls. The ten tracks (mixed by Tue Madsen, btw) aim directly between your eyes, with the occasional blast beat part (just check "Push the venom") making your heart skip a couple of beats... Super cool: the middle part of "Numb and intoxicated" - thatโs what I call innovative!
