21.King Diamond (Bonus Track)
by Markus Eck (04.07.2007) This is another milestone I have to praise on these pages; an album of a size and firmness that almost the complete Power Metal-competition recoils like table tennis balls off a titan wall. Yes, "Hell destroyer" degrades many wannabee-heavy bands and cliche-copyists to teethless and ball-less suckers. With this album the highly ambitious Californians around the exceptional voice of Sean Peck deliver a reference example for how lively, how abnormally dynamic, and how hungry a true Metal band can still sound in 2007. You can hear it immediately that since their 2003-killer album, "Darker than black", Cage have concentrated on what they love most and what they do best: avanlanche-like, eruptively rhythmistized and hit-compatible, epic, melodic Heavy Metal bursting with power. The only premise was that it had to be timeless and perfectly arranged. Even in electrifying high speed passages, the guys from San Diego prove their sense for high level musicality.
