by Oliver Kube (04.07.2007) What a sound: atmospherically tight, powerful and full of unique characteristics, at the same time melodic and full of Pop appeal. If the (music)world would be a just one, Hell Is For Heroes would be superstars. But it isn't, hence the band from London's working class district, Shepherd's Bush, is now, by the time of their third release, still not much more than an insider tip. Which is a pity for the guys. But as long as the quintet has the chance to deliver such excellent sounds we should at least not be discontent. Great songs, such as the anthemnic "Between us", the intense Noise rocker, "Into the blood" and the powerful track with the significant title, "-" are among the best that has come from the British Isles this year - no matter if the charts have noticed or not. They sound absolutely up-to-date, yet never deny the 80s and 90s-roots coming from British bands, such as Ride and Joy Division as well as the brilliant Fugazi and Refused.
