    242 I said ok I said alright

by Jürgen Tschamler (07.01.2008) The Swedish quintet has been around since 2004 but due to constant line-up changes it took them until 2007 to record their debut album. "Hellride" is a fine Rock ass kick: these guys know how to rock and have the adequate hooks and melodies in store, too. They sometimes remind me of Gluecifer in their early days with some Glam-/Sleaze-touch to it. The songs have catchy melodies with an enormous long-time effect and still don't appear MTV-infected. These guys riff 95% of the TV-stars into the ground and at the same time sound so unbelievably cool that you just have to love them. That begins with the super cool intro and ends with the fast closer "242 (I said ok, I said alright)". Fast riff attacks with a Pop drive and a big bunch of Foo Fighters-like hymns. The highlight is "Bootycall", provided with an organ, that somehow reminds me of the Canadian madman, Devin Townsend. Absolutely hit compatible. A fantastic debut of a band that hopefully will not remain a flash in the pan.
