by Oliver Kube (30.10.2009) Remember the all-girl-outfit The Runaways? The one featuring Joan Jett and Lita Ford? Nobody? Well, okay, that was way back in the Seventies - even I am not that old... But maybe some of you will remember, for example, "Close my eyes forever", that duet with Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince Of Darkness, done in the early 80s. During the last years, or even decades, the blonde guitar player hasn't exactly been in the center of media attention, but this summer, she made a surprise live comeback. "Wicked wonderland" her new CD, is available now, and has all assets of a modern Metal album (minus an adequate production, that is). Yes, that's right, modern's the word here - no stale leftover dust, no retro stuff à la The Donnas or Crucified Barbara: Lita Ford is up to date, offering modern (Nu) Metal. Which is good - it'll just take some time until she and her target group will have found each other.
