by Jürgen Tschamler (13.06.2008) The Danish power metal formation already convinced their audience with their last two outputs "Melancholy beast" and "Legend of the bone carver" - one reason for this was singer Lance King (ex-Balance Of Power) who unfortunately has chosen to quit the band. But the boys managed to hire no less than voice volcano Matt Barlow (Iced Earth) for their third album. When "Immortal" was recorded, Matt hadn't rejoined Iced Earth , so a long-term engagement in Pyramaze seemed to make sense at that time. But now, after his comeback with Iced Earth, the situation has changed. Nevertheless, Pyramaze have decided to release the new album, all the better because "Immortal" is: Iced Earth par excellence. No matter how you approach the tracks, you always come to this conclusion: this is Iced Earth, "The dark saga" phase. Mighty, profound power metal hymns, aggressive doublebass attacks, a fantastic voice = just killer songs!
