What a breathtaking musical (and maybe also personal) development could be observed in Vogelfrei over the last years. Their roots are still in the Oi!-Punk-movement, but already with their last album, the band had indicated that they were open for new influences, part of the material even had some ballad elements. This trend was proceeded on "Irgendwohin", only that Vogelfrei have further matured in terms of song writing. On this unfortunately much too short mini CD they did almost everything right. In contrast to about 90% of their German colleagues Vogelfrei can easily do without musical or lyrical clichés. Values, like honesty (not to be confused with hypocrisy) and independent thinking are more important than hollow phrases. The production of "Irgendwohin" does the rest for this great album, it found the right balance between transparency (in the vocals) and necessary basic heaviness (in the riffs).
