by Markus Eck (08.04.2008) In 2003, they founded their Black Metal-troop, now after two demos, these hellish Dutch finally release their debut album. The technically fit, infernal trio has devoted to extraordinary vampiresque and morbid-dark, romantic Symphonic Melodic Black Metal. "Lammendam" is a concept album with sonically huge constructs of suspense and a great variety that the three has come up with an unbelievably lot of input. So it’s not surprising that Carach Angren devoted to all the Horror-components of their current ghost-recordings in such an intense way. Gloomy, enchanting piano-like ivory contours, often surreal, strange, distorted grace evoke some frightening pictures before your inner eye with their acoustic weirdness. As usual for such special kind of Black Metal, also the Dutch wastefully deal with bombastic and nightmarish opulence-arrangements.
